In a single misfired heartbeat, my father was taken from us – in the middle of having Grandchildren and taking his life’s work to the stars.
It felt like a leg was ripped from my body, after all, a loving parent is the foundation for our beginning….
But something happened that restored my balance.
I remembered a promise….
Several months before my father was called Home, I received a message from God.
I was taking my daughter to church while my husband stayed home with our newborn son.
Like a sudden breath of wind, I felt the overwhelming presence of God. Not just His nearness, but His Love. It was tangible. I looked around, at the clear sky, the
atmosphere holding us captive in its bubble – all the way to church and during the service I looked for chariots of fire or His Face, or something to make a visible presentation, but all I did was feel Him. And I wondered why He was comforting me – what was about to happen?
After I recovered from the initial shock of loss with a hurricane roaring inside my soul – I remembered God’s promise and knew that my Dad was existing inside that breathe of wind, only he could see what I had felt.
And I had peace.
Do you feel like you are being reined into darkness?
Jonah was chased…..
“Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up….(Jonah 1: 4)
“But the Lord provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights (Jonah 1: 17).”
“When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, lord, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple (Jonah 2: 7).”
“And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.” (Jonah 2: 10)
Jonah was then commanded to deliver God’s message to the entire city of Ninevah.
You are not meant to stay in the shadows of sorrow or fear. You exist because the Lord has a great plan for you.
Print this out and put it on your wall:
God is not leading you into darkness – He is chasing after you with His everlasting grace to bring you into His light.
